By Johannes Sundlo, AI & Future of Work Advisor. I help leaders and HR teams turn AI into adoption that sticks, through keynotes, workshops and change programs.

The hype around AI tools for HR is, for once, mostly real. The hard part is no longer “does a tool exist for this”, it is sorting the genuinely useful from the demo-ware. This is a curated, categorised shortlist of AI tools worth knowing in 2026, grouped by the HR function they serve, with a one-line read on what each does.

A note before the list: a tool is only as safe as the data you feed it. Run anything that touches employee or candidate data past your security and privacy people first. If the vendor terms are unclear on training and retention, that is your answer.

Picking tools is the easy 10%. Getting your organisation to use them is the other 90%. If that is where you are stuck, here is how I help teams get there →
