Microsoft Viva

Microsoft Viva launched a couple of days ago, and the main question is it a game-changer or not?

Microsoft Viva - What is it?

It's four products that they branded Microsoft Viva, so let's look at those four products.

Viva Connection

It seems a lot like a revamped, fancy, and AI-powered intranet from the looks of it. "It is personalized and appears in the apps and devices your employees already use every day, such as Microsoft Teams."

Viva Learning

[caption id="attachment_5317" align="alignnone" width="650"]Viva Learning Viva Learning[/caption] You can probably figure this one out by the name. It's all about learning, which can be curated and/or integrated with a range of learning platforms and LMS. It will be interesting to see if organizations are still going to utilize LMS-systems after this. They do obviously rely heavily on LinkedIn Learning here. (Aka, the good old lynda.com - remember that one?!)

Viva topic

[caption id="attachment_5318" align="alignnone" width="650"]Viva Topics Viva Topics[/caption] When seeing this, my first thought was that it looked a lot like a Wikipedia-copy, and sure enough, they did even call it that themselves.  This is where all information related to work-topics and such are stored, gathered, and made available.  Microsoft says; Viva Topics builds on the Microsoft 365 apps and content you already use every day and the connections you have with people across your organization. So essentially piggybacking on all the stuff you already do, putting some AI-to work and, then presenting it back to you. which I thought at first lands it seemed almost like a

Viva Insights

[caption id="attachment_5319" align="alignnone" width="650"]Viva Insights Viva Insights[/caption] Powered by Glint and the full Microsoft 365-suite makes this one powerful, and I've seen a lot of people getting excited about this! And yes, it does looks like a fantastic tool. Utilizing the power of "understanding" the employee and sharing insights back to the organization and the manager.

Microsoft Viva Pricing

So what about the pricing? Microsoft hasn't disclosed the full price for the suite yet but for Viva Topics, the price has been released, and it's 5 dollars per month and user. And it's an annual commitment and assuming you already have Microsoft 365 in some form or shape. It's yet to be discovered if the rest of the suite will follow the same pricing model but I'm guessing that Viva Insights (inc. Glint) will be the most costly of the four announced and perhaps there will be some kind of discount if you get all fours? Read the latest blog post.
